Adoption of logo, designed by school pupils
Dates: February 2000
Lead organisation: Committee
The name and logo was chosen/designed by senior pupils at Iochdar School, under the guidance of Mrs Ann MacLeod. The committee chose the final version of the logo and name.
The swan was chosen, because of the high population of swans locally, and because it is also part of the school's own badge. The clasped hands under the swan are taken from the Clan Ranald of Clan MacDonald; a hand features in most of their crests. Here, two hands represent the school and community reaching out to each other. The logo was further developed by a local graphic artist, and has been used on all our stationary since.
