After the dreadful storms of January 11th 2005, we woke to a township that was awash with seaweed, and broken sheds, and stones and missing sheep. Soon we realised that a whole family were missing, and the next few days were strange and shocking, as we all turned out to search. For a short while, we became custodians of money being raised for a memorial to the MacPherson family and Calum Campbell, who drowned that night. A total of £8,578.94 was handed over to the memorial fund.
